Cannington beat Doctors by 20 runs

On a fine sunny evening mass unavailability and the mysterious absence of Doctors’ skipper meant a 9-a-side game.

Cannington’s steady start was boosted to a challenging total of 145 from 18 overs by S.Lock’s quickfire 30 not out off 13 balls.

Doctors’ response was a blistering 10-an-over partnership between Keith Powell and Rob Adcock.  The joy was, sadly, all too brief.  Thereafter only a powerful innings from the timeless Graham Fergusson, ably supported by Matt Bere, kept Doctors competitive.  When Bere was dismissed and Fergusson retired on 30 not out the deepening gloom and the advent of Cannington’s stronger bowlers meant that Doctors fell well short.
