Environment Agency lost to Doctors by 6 wickets

Environment Agency  60 all out

Doctors                       62 for 4

Doctors lost the toss but struck early via Sam Powell (1-7) whose rapid seamers induced an outside edge from R Shillito which was caught by Tom Chandler at point, and the slow left arm bowling of Phil Barker (1-15) off whom Dave Reeves was caught by David Gwynne Jones low down at mid off.  S.Marsh and E.Barnes put together an enterprising partnership which was first stifled and then broken by the tantalising leg spin of Andrew Paisley (1-2) when Marsh (13) fell to an athletic, one handed, overhead catch by Barker. Barnes’ spirited knock of 17 ended tamely with a looping catch to Tom Chandler off Peter Reed (2-5) and when the dangerous James Yarham was run out by good work from Powell in the covers and keeper Dave Rooke the Agency innings was on the slide.  Tom Chandler (1-5) bowled a tidy spell and completed a hat trick of catches of his own bowling and a hostile spell from Alan Dunkley (1-2) in partnership with the spiteful off breaks of Will Chandler ((2-2) was too much for the lower order.

Adrian Fisher charitably donated his wicket to R.Symons (1-12) by playing on to the second ball of Doctors’ innings but Dunkley and Charles Macadam took control in a stand of 28.  Macadam (10) was caught by A.Daniels off the bowling of C.Matthews (1-5) and Gwynne Jones was bowled round his legs by Reeves (1-10) but the stylish Dunkley (25 retired) was dominant and an elegant cameo from Tom Chandler, which included an imperious straight six, took Doctors to within sight of the winning post.  Chandler (11) fell to Marsh (1-15) but Rooke and Will Chandler eased their side home with 4 overs to spare.
