Pacemakers beat Doctors by 4 wickets

Doctors        94 for 6

Pacemakers  96 for 6

Doctors took on Pacemakers on the warmest day of the year so far.

With recently in-form Gwynne-Jones back in the pavilion for 1, tight opening bowling from Short (4-2-4-0) and Worrall (4-0-11-1) held Doctors to only 19 off the first 8 overs, and despite good batting from Will Chandler (37) and Andrew Dodden (33no) the final total was limited to 94, with no other batsman making double figures.

When Pacemakers replied, a superb opening spell of quick bowling from Richard Gower (4-1-6-3), in which all his victims were clean bowled, briefly suggested an unlikely victory. However despite reasonable economy from David Gwynne-Jones (3-0-9-0) and Jeremy Budd (2-0-8-0), further breakthroughs did not come quickly enough and the aggressive hitting of Worrall (46no) saw Pacemakers home with 4 overs to spare.
