Spaxton beat Doctors by 51 runs

Spaxton                       192 for 5

Doctors                      141 for 2

An early breakthrough for Tom Adcock (1-39) did little to inhibit the home team on a beautiful Spaxton batting strip as Scott Bellinger (33 retired) and Will Moyse (30 retired) each hammered 7 boundaries.  Charlie Granville (35 retired) continued the assault with excellent support from Matt Mackenzie (20) and the run rate was a steady 10 an over as miss-fields and dropped catches added to the fielding side’s woe.  Wickets for Peter Reed (1-31) and Shay Keohane (2-21), who was the pick of the Doctors bowlers, temporarily slowed things but sprightly contributions from Will Kelly (13), Harrison Buller (19) and Tom Bellinger (22 n.o.) ensured a huge total.

Tom Millard (10) looked in great nick until he was called for a suicidal single by Connor Keohane and was stranded well short of the crease.  Keohane (33 retired) made amends with a sound partnership with Andrew Jeanes (34 retired) but Doctors were never up with the required rate.  A commanding innings by John Ogle (30 retired) featured his usual elegant cover driving but even this was not enough to get the visitors on terms. Shay Keohane was the victim of a fine running catch by Mackenzie at long off from the bowling of Kelly (1-25) and Adcock and Phil Barker (10 n.o.) saw the game to a quiet close.
