Doctors lost to Trull Trundlers by 5 wickets

Doctors           64 all out

Trull                 67 for 5

Doctors batted first and found run scoring difficult on a damp wicket with a very soggy out field. With scoring opportunities hard to come by doctors tried to scamper quick singles, but this resulted in two run outs. Sam Powell batted sensibly and was briefly supported by Tom Adams (10) who struck the first boundary of the innings in the fifth over. Once Tom was out wickets fell regularly and Sam was eventually bowled for 27 trying to up the tempo. Extras added a useful 15 runs, and Phil Barker was the next highest scorer, but was left stranded on 6 not out, with the wickets shared between Harry Clarke 2-13 and Rob Clarke 2-6.

Imogen Mann (1-12) struck in her first over to put some pressure on Trull but Michael Milne (13) and Alex Tetley (8) went for their shots to put Trull well up on the run rate before Milne was spectacularly run out by a direct hit from Georgie Adcock and Tom Adcock (1-15) took his first wicket for the doctors courtesy of a fine backpedalling catch by John Ogle at mid-on. Sam Powell (1-4) and Phil Barker (1-14) took a wicket each to give the doctors hope, but Harry Clarke (8 no) saw out Sam’s remaining overs with Frank Clarke( 7), his father, who was then well caught by Ed Johnson off David Gwynne Jones (1-11). This only bought in Masters to see Trull home with a quick fire 15.
